That’s right folks, suckers4travel has an entirely new meaning!
Obviously we have kept this news for quite a while (baby is due early October), but for the close friends and family that we didn’t tell prior to the post, we apologize! We kinda lost track of who we told, life kept coming at us fast, and of course the travel kept us busy.
To that point, we have tentatively decided to slow down a bit on the longer journeys until around the new year.
But this does give us good reason to take more local trips and discover a bit more about our adoptive nation we are calling home for now.
A quick attempt to answer some questions in advance:
-Yes, we know how this happens
-No, we did not plan on it
-but as time has passed, we are genuinely excited about the new addition
-we are waiting till the delivery room to find out the sex of the baby
-we plan to have the baby here in Germany
-we have a few names picked out, suggestions are welcome
-but any name we pick must have a ‘y’ somewhere in it
Finally, and most importantly, our faith does not lead us to believe anything other than this pregnancy being God’s plan for us. We are humbled by this gift of life for many reasons, but not least of which is because we have too many friends who have difficulty in conceiving, have lost their babies during pregnancy, during birth, and even during early childhood. These friends are rarely far from our thoughts and always in our prayers.
We respectfully offer this (extremely small) condolence- we will do our best to restore your lost joy through the blessings we have been afforded.
Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
for the man who fears the Lord.
May the Lord bless you from Zion;
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children’s children—
peace be on Israel.
